Bonnie Cherry

Bonnie Alene Cherry, age 80 of the Union Hill Community in Clay County, TN passed away Friday morning, March 27, 2026 at Macon Community Hospital.

Funeral Services for Bonnie Alene Cherry were conducted Sunday afternoon, March 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN with John Carlisle & Rick Mosley officiating. Interment followed in the Hinson Cemetery. Nathan Jones served as an honorary pallbearer. Gary Dodson, Mark Lee, Marty Dodson, Jackie Jenkins, Stacey Jones, & Micheal Bean served as active pallbearers.

Bonnie Alene Cherry was born April 13, 1945 in Clay County, Tennessee, a daughter born to the late Mansfield & Oda (Hinson) Jones.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by daughter, Tammy Gail Rhoton; sisters, Estelle Cherry, Thelma Short & Viola Luper; brothers, Carlene and Joe Ray Jones. Alene was retired from the Clay County Highway Department where she worked as a custodian for several years and was a member of the Union Hill church of Christ.

Survivors include: sons, Richard Rhoton & Companion, Rayna of Homosassa, FL, Jason Rhoton of the Union Hill Community; daughters, Jenny Brockette & husband, Darren of the Hermitage Springs Community, Rhonda Birdwell & husband, Kenny, Elizabeth Knudsen & husband, T.J. all of Watertown; brother, Duke Jones; sister, Barbara “Bob” Dodson all of Lafayette; special friends, Kathy Bean & Patricia Hatcher; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
