Funeral services for Thelma Christine Dallas Stevens were conducted Monday, May 31, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Charlie Patterson and Brother Jr. Spears officiating. Jeff Summers, Jimmy Summers, Christopher Dallas, Jamie Woodard, Charlie Woodard, and Chris West served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Roark Cemetery. She was born in Macon County, Tennessee on October 28, 1924 to the late William Haley and Allie Aildor Shrum Bransford.

Thelma was married for a short time to her second husband Huston Stevens; who preceded her in death after three years of marriage. Besides her husbands and parents; one son, Jerry Wayne Dallas, brothers, Cager Bransford, and R.C. Bransford, sisters, Ruby Pipkin, and Gracie Jones, granddaughter, Loretta Kay Morrison, and grandson, Danny Lewis Summers; also preceded her in death.
Thelma was a simple woman who loved taking care of her home and family. When she was younger, sewing her children’s clothes kept her busy. Thelma liked to play putt-putt golf when ever she got the chance and she enjoyed playing bingo at the nursing home. She loved for her family to come see her, but if her soap opera’s were on, you didn’t get much attention from her. Thelma’s life consisted of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and all who knew her.
She is survived by; daughters, Virginia Ann and husband J.W. Farley of Akersville, KY, Donna Markita and husband Wayen Warner of the Cedar Bluff Community in Macon County, TN, Linda Faye and husband Carlos West, Glenda Kay and husband Earl Wix, and Allie Marie and husband Glenn Summers all of Lafayette, TN, brothers,
Joe and wife Selvaline Bransford of the Sunrise Community in Macon County, and Paul Bransford of Lafayette, TN, sisters, Loulla and husband Lee Parker of Marion, Indiana, and Dorothy Bowman of Carthage, TN, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; also survive.
