On September 7th, 2012 the RBS Bulldogs took on the Purple Tigers of Watertown in their first home game of the year.  Although, they played a very hard hitting 48 minutes of football with some great enthusiasm and a tremendous amount of hard work, they came up on the short end by a score of 34-20.

The scoring summary goes somewhat like this. With ll:06 to go in the first Watertown took it in for six and the conversion failed, making it 6-0. With 10:08 left in the first, Bulldog A.J. Dale scampered on a 70yd touchdown run and with a failed conversion, the score was 6-6. With 9:15 to go in the first Watertown completed a touchdown pass and converted the try to make it 14-6. I caught up with Coach Shoulders after the game and asked him what he thought about the game. He replied with “ I’m very pleased with the work ethic. I’m confident about the upcoming games after playing the way we did against Watertown’s talent.” He mentioned that the Watertown coach said that “RBS was the hardest hitting team he had seen all year.” I also asked him about the upcoming games he answered “ We have some improvement to do but when we make the improvements we will be very successful”

With this loss RBS falls to 2-1 and 1-1 in region play. They will be at home again this Friday as they will entertain their rivals, the Bulldogs of Clay County. The Bulldogs made mention that they want all the alumni at the game along with all the fans because they are going to have a “red out”. So, everybody come on out and cheer on the Dogs!!!
