Red Boiling Springs made their annual visit to Gordonsville last Tuesday night.

Although the Lady Bulldogs gave a great effort in a 37-34 loss, the boys were never in their game losing 56-24 to the Tigers.

The Lady Bulldogs fell behind early and trailed 10-7 after the first quarter and 21-12 at halftime. One had the feeling that they had a comeback in them and that comeback was ignited by Kelsey Jenkins who knocked down 5 three pointers by the end of the third quarter to pull the Lady Bulldogs into a 27-27 tie going into the fourth quarter.

Lady Bulldog Mayson Burgener made two quick baskets and Kelsey Jenkins knocked down another 3 pointer to give the Lady Bulldogs a 34-32 lead with less than 2 minutes left in the game. The Lady Bulldogs had come all the way back from a 13 point deficient to grab a 2 point lead and had possession of the ball. Turnovers and missed free throws kept the Lady Bulldogs from any more scoring while the Lady Tigerettes made their free throws and a basket to win a very exciting game by a final score of 37-34.

Other Lady Bulldog scoring-Ashlyn Murphy-1 point-Mckenzie Hix-2 points-Hannah Smith-3 points and Cayley finished with 2 points.

The Boys game was over early as the Tigers had 3 dunks in the first quarter in route to a 18-3 lead. The Bulldogs were able to get their act together somewhat in the second quarter by scoring 10 points but on this night this game clearly belonged to a much more talented Gordonsville Tigers. The Tigers defense was by far the best the Bulldogs have seen all year and the Bulldogs need to go back to the drawing board to improve on the defensive end.
The Bulldogs committed 16 turnovers and were outrebounded by the Tigers 26-9. The Bulldogs shooting percentage was a miserable 21 percent. Bulldogs scoring-Ty Tuck-8 points-Brince Crouch-2 points-Alex Mullinex-5 points-Zane Roberts-3-points-Dallas Greanead-2 points-Bailey Anderson-2 points and Elijah Byfield also had 2 points.

The next RBS game will be in the Dog Pound against Webb School.
