The Nashville Christian Eagles opened their 2015 Football season on a high note by winning big over Red Boiling Springs last Friday night, as they rolled over the Bulldogs by a final score of 59-12.The margin of victory could have been much larger.

The Eagles scored touchdowns on their first 4 possessions and led the Bulldogs 29-0 after the first quarter despite having 2 touchdowns called back because of penalties. Red Boiling Springs failed to make a first down in the first half and had a negative -28 yards rushing, plus turning the ball over on fumbles 2 times. The Eagles ground game had 189 yards rushing the first half and 67 yards thru the air. The Eagles played their reserves most of the second quarter and the second half by rolling up a total of 451 yards rushing.
The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the third quarter when Billy York picked up a loose ball and rumbled 10 yards for a touchdown. The other Bulldog touchdown came in the fourth quarter when Bulldog running back Elijah Byfield scampered around left end to make the score 59-12.The extra point try on both Bulldog touchdowns was no good.
The Bulldog defense played pretty good although the score does not indicate just how well. Trevor Carter, Eric Garcia, Ben Bravo, and Rodney Pruitte all gave great effort. The Bulldog offense was out of sync for most of the game as the stats will prove. Byfield ran the ball very good the second half but the passing game was null and void. The offense turned the ball over 4 times in the first half and trailed 43-0 at half-time.

This was just one of those nights for the Bulldogs who played most of the game using 17 kids while Nashville Christian brought 80 kids and they all played. The Eagles are highly respected by most football experts and will be ranked very high when the rankings come out later in the season.

These Bulldogs are very young and this was only one game. They will be much better as the season goes along. The Bulldogs stay at home this week to welcome Middle Tennessee Christian to the Dog Pound. Make your plans to be on hand as the Bulldogs try and get their first win of the season.
