Macon XC competes in Burnett Invitational

The Macon County High and Junior High cross country teams competed in the Burnett Invitational in Cookeville on Sep 24th.

The high school boys finished in 5th place as a team in the 5K race. They recorded the following times and placements: Matthew Evans (10) 18:15, Evan Groesbeck (15) 18:43, John Carter Wilson (34) 20:18, Collin Morgan (45) 21:23, Parker Whittemore (46) 21:49, Noah Barber (60) 23:26, Jayden Moore (66) 23:44, Zach Presley (72) 25:38, and Angelo Lazarou (77) 26:36.

The high school girls had only three runners. They recorded the following times: Laykin Ellis (6) 21:29, Aubrie Ward (10) 22:19, and Taylor Ward (52) 33:11.

In the two-mile junior high race the girls had the following times: McKenna Centers (5) 14:45, Addison Whittemore (15) 15:54, Peyton Benge (22) 16:37, Sydney Green (32) 18:06, Chloe Osborne (38) 18:54, Haeley Gibbs (46) 21:02, Kyra Cothron (47) 21:22, Saddie Gammon (49) 22:06, Abby Hire (51) 23:19, and Mollie Rearick (52) 23:24. The team finished 3rd.

In the boys two-mile race Macon had the following times: Caden Presley (3) 12:12, Brayden Leftrick (5) 12:32, Jacob Eakles (15) 13:00, Landon Presley (17) 13:07, Ace Meador (22) 13:16, Dakota Hackert (23) 13:24, Gage Willis (24) 13:32, Landon Brawner (28) 13:57, Troy Wix (34) 14:30, Easton Sadler (35) 14:38, Brantley Trent (57) 16:20, Ryan Alvis (68) 17:56, Andrew Blackwood (72) 18:28, and Cole Peterson (75) 20:26. The junior high boys finished 3rd as a team.

The event also had a community race, open to all ages. There was one female finisher in the 70+ category and eight finishers in the male 70+ race.
