The Macon County Boys and Girls Track and Field teams competed in the A-AA East Sub-Section at TPS this past week. The Tigers had quite a few athletes competing and had some really strong showings.

This week three MCHS Seniors signed a letter of intent to attend school and play football with Cumberland University. Jacob Salyer, Tyler Manning, and Chris Escamilla gathered in the MCHS auditorium to make it official.

The MCHS Boys soccer team ended their regular season this week against Jackson County. The game also was the last home game for the six seniors on the team.

A long tough season for the Macon County Softball team concluded this week at the District 9AA tournament in White House. The Tigerettes needed to win at least one game to advance in the tournament.

The MCHS Baseball team ended their season this week in the play-in game in the District 9AA Tournament. Earlier in the week they finished their regular season against Gordonsville.

In an exclusive interview with the Macon County Chronicle sports reporter Wally Etheridge, Cindy and David Porter announced last Friday that they are resigning as co-head coaches of the Softball program at Red Boiling Springs after 17 years to devote more time to their families and especially their grand-children.
