The Macon County High School Tigerettes advanced to the State Tournament by defeating Creekwood on Saturday evening. It is the second state appearance for this team in the past three years.
White County captured a decisive win over Macon County in the girls final of the James C. Haile State Tournament. The final score was 41-14 in favor of the young ladies from Sparta.
Seniors from the Class of 2013 faced Gordonsville in their last home at the Dogpound. This is the last time some fans will get to see these youngsters play.
The basketball teams from Macon County High School are finishing the 2012-2013 season well and looking to push deep in the postseason. This week Macon hosted White House on Feb 5th and on the 8th traveled to Westmoreland.
The MCHS Tigerettes dropped their first game of the season this week while the Tigers split a pair of 9-AA contests. On Friday the 25th MCHS traveled to Goodpasture and on the 26th they made up an away game at White House.
The 2013 Basketball Homecoming was held on Friday January 25th, 2013. Red Boiling Springs hosted Pickett County on this cold evening.
The Jackson County Blue Devils really took it to the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs on Saturday Janurary 19th in Gainesboro. The Lady Blue Devils won 46-26 and the Blue Devils also won 72-44.
This week Macon County High School would face Westmoreland and make-up a game with Gallatin which was cancelled due to illness earlier in the season. The Tigerettes would remain undefeated and the Tigers would let a quality win slip through their fingers.
The recent success shared by the Macon County High School Golf teams is bearing fruit. Senior Kaleigh Chitwood has accepted a scholarship offer to attend Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN and play golf.
The Red Boiling Springs Junior Bulldogs just came out smoking and the Jackson County Blue Devils had no answer as the Bulldogs took home a 46-20 win that was totally unexpected.
